GOAL
You know you have trained a good unppp when it has a 3-step solution to all of your problems.
HOW MY DAY STARTS
Building unparty-app is all about creativity. I wanted to build an APP that you could grow as I was inspired in my everyday life. What that meant was that if I was inspired by a plant or a song I hear while I am outside, I can write about it right then and there.
I am not sure how other creative folks are, but for me it is typical of me to write, take a photo, and in some cases even build something and never think of it again. Creativity for me is a release.
I can only create when I fully absorb the problem. I need to understand how the product works, where it is going, and where the gaps are. From there I can connect what is possible right now and what the next step is to get it there.
This is very rarely a linear process. I had to build unparty-app by myself. I was not reputable enough to partner with someone else without the "prove it." I did not have the resources to hire out and get a prototype done, so I learned as much as could about the scope of what I wanted to accomplish through BOOKS.

I KEEP MOVING FORWARD,
THINK I REALIZED A PERCEIVED BOTTLENECK THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A SECRET WEAPON.
I typically just keep going. I look back when I reflect, but very rarely do
I get stuck in the emotion. This is starting to become apparent to me in my
DEV. style.
I use GitHub Copilot on issues that surface during my BUILD. sessions that run
as background tasks. From there I review the work and then add to my main app.
This allows me the freedom to start each day new, iterating on another feature
while keeping the same focus.
GitHub Copilot
GitHub Copilot was a gift to discover at a time where I did not have the runway to run all of unparty-app LLM requests.
If I was not building unparty-app by myself I feel like I would have really been able to drive the value of what GitHub Copilot could offer for the cost.
Starting on June 1st, GitHub Copilot is switiching to usage-based billing. This switch is more identical to the spend on Claude Code.
This is going to increase the monthly cost of unparty-app by around $42 a month.
- April 2026 usage would cost $40.18 more under usage-based billing
TASK: TAKE EACH MONTH'S USAGE AND RUN THE SAME CALCULATION
