The hit dog bit back.

If you have ever had the courage to breathe life into an idea that lives in your head, you are likely to have encountered a human that labels you mad.

While building unparty.app I have encountered many of those humans. To be fair, there has always been a piece of my person that seems to trigger a similar response out of people. Responses that previously left me questioning myself, my ideas, and my own reality.

How dare I let myself dream of a time that does not yet exist?

I have found the responses of skepticism, were mostly rooted in fear. In the early stages of building, asking friends to download, like, subscribe, or just support felt like the end of the friendship.

When friends would interact with what I was building and they would see an incomplete interface, broken link, or crashing errors, rarely would anyone say anything to me directly. Instead the relationship changes. Perhaps uncomfortable they might talk amongst themselves or even worse they slip into avoidance where the relationship never gets the opportunity to recover.

Then you have those friends that care less about your output and are more concerned with what will be left of you when the pursuit of your dreams goes from one year to three. Who know that a dream is nothing, but a plan with long milestones. Friends that are busy pursuing their own dreams.

I would say to you, keep these friends close, but life has a special method of keeping them close enough.
