I built unparty-app for the youngest version of myself I could fully remember.

A large poster of Muhammad Ali hung above his twin bed. The words “Impossible is Nothing’’ were centered on the bottom of a black and white print of Ali standing over Sonny Liston. The iconic image faced a wall where an American flag was held up by two thumb tacks.

In the middle of the room a skin fade was hidden underneath a wig made of old t-shirts. He danced as the opening chords of “Someday We’ll Be Together” filled his imagination.

In this room he was a kid.

I have always had an emotional connection with music. If I close my eyes and look beyond the colors, I can almost recreate the scene in which I heard a particular song for the very first time.

If that memory was not visual, I can feel the mood.
